The Warren County Clerk’s office is responsible for housing several types of legal documents including deeds, mortgages, wills, marriage license, notary bonds as well as other types of documents.

These records can be searched online through a third party subscription or in-person in our deed room. Our office will be happy to help you get started on your search.

Record Search Options

In-Person Search

Visit our deed room located at the bottom floor of the building.

A deputy records clerk can assist you in operating our public terminals and finding the information that you are seeking.

Fees:

Printing costs for physical copies is $.50 per page.
Certified copies are $5 per document regardless of page count.
Large plat copies are $3 each.

Review the records available before registering for an account.
The index is built using party names, not property addresses. If only the address is known, more information can be obtained on our Property Valuation Administrator’s website, warrenkypva.com.
When conducting your search, use as few parameters as needed to broaden your results. Basic information will provide the best return on the search (i.e. limiting your search fields to LAST NAME, FIRST NAME).

Q: What is a “recording”?

A: “Recording” is a term that is used to describe an official document and also the action of making the document a part of the official record. Examples of a recorded document would include a deed, mortgage, will, marriage record, etc.

Q: What do I need to conduct a search?

A: Our indexing system is based on party names and document types. These details are critical in locating a specific document. The Warren County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) houses the tax roll on their website. You can find information that may assist in your search at warrenkypva.com

Q: Can a clerk conduct a search for me?

A: No. Our staff can offer guidance in showing you how to navigate the indexing system, but they cannot perform the work for you.

Q: How can I find out who owns a piece of property?

A: Our indexing system is based on party names and does not allow for an address search. The Warren County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) provides tax role information, including property owner names that are searchable by address. You can access PVA’s website at warrenkypva.com.

Q: How do I know if I have any liens against my property?

A: A Clerk is prohibited from performing any type of “title search”. That means that we cannot look up records and definitively answer any questions. The Recordings Department staff is available to assist you in your search, but ultimately, your own conclusion must be drawn.

Q: How do I obtain a copy of my plat?

A: Please note that Warren County does not have every plat on record in our office. If we do have a copy, they are .50 per page.
